What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and deliver relevant content. We use cookies in accordance with UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Managing Your Preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the button below or the cookie banner at the bottom of every page.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how our website functions. For more information visit allaboutcookies.org.

Google Consent Mode v2

We use Google Consent Mode v2, which means Google Analytics and advertising tags will only fire after you have given your explicit consent. Until consent is given, all advertising and analytics storage is set to "denied" and no tracking data is collected.

Third-Party Cookies

Our website may include features from third-party services. These services may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies. The third-party services we use include Google (Analytics, Tag Manager), Meta (where advertising is enabled) and Unsplash (image CDN and no tracking cookies).

How to Connect Google Tag Manager

GTM works with our cookie consent system automatically. Here is the setup process:

  • Step 1: Replace every instance of GTM-XXXXXXX in your HTML files with your real GTM ID (e.g. GTM-AB12CD3).
  • Step 2: Google Consent Mode v2 is already configured. All storage defaults to denied before GTM loads. When a visitor accepts, the site fires a consent update granting the appropriate permissions automatically.
  • Step 3: In GTM go to Admin, then Container Settings, then enable Consent Overview. Set your GA4 tag to require analytics_storage and your Ads tags to require ad_storage.
  • Step 4: Test with Google Tag Assistant to confirm consent states are passing correctly before going live.
In short: Replace GTM-XXXXXXX with your real ID everywhere. The consent system is wired up and GDPR compliant. Visitors who decline will not trigger GA4 or ad tracking.
